This was an experiment. Could he actually accomplish something if he left his apartment instead of waiting for the disaster to either pass over or come find him personally? His friends (wow, weird thought) did sort of keep insisting he was... well, a little less worthless than evidence might usually bear out. They probably hadn't meant he should try something like this, but it was just birds, right? Sure, he was quite willing to believe they were dangerous, but he seemed to be pretty well designed for this. A gob of slime would knock all but the very biggest out of the sky, and a good hop not only let him escape the ground-dwelling ones with ease but made for a pretty good quick exit in general. Yeah, they could fly, but he was an expert cowardly flee-er.

He was trying to clean. It wasn't something he was very good at--no real reason to practice. And further complicated by the new scars. Clotho's healing had helped, but there'd been plenty of damage done, first. He wished he'd just owned up right away, but that might have meant doing it with an audience. And maybe The crazy lady in charge would have been even worse on the network if he'd just yelled it right away. What else was B going to stand for, anyway? Breakfast? He didn't get any credit for that.

And so, to keep himself busy, he was trying to tidy. The space was small and cluttered, since he seldom bothered so much as picking things up, but it worked out, since it gave him something to do now. Carefully. His hands hurt.

Bigby had talked to enough people and was ready to make a very risky gamble. All he could hope for was to get more information than he already had and, hopefully, get back in one piece. He'd made a note on the network that he was going to go try to shake the guard hound down. It was just going to be a matter of waiting to see who wanted to join him.

Bigby sipped on his beer and took a long drag on his cigarette. He wondered if he should have talked to Snow about this first. It was too late now. If she was going to yell at him it was going to wait.
